Amish farm Homeschool Tour Details

Enjoy the Educational Trip on our Farm

Our Amish Farm Educational trip  is available on select days at 10:00 AM. It exclusively includes only one party.

  • Duration: 1.30 hour
  • Group Sizes: 20+
  • Enjoy the Holiday atmosphere on the farm.
  • Enjoy time with your family and friends while learning about farm life and Amish culture.
  • Discover the Amish life on the farm, from feeding calves and milking a cow to gathering eggs.
  • Ride around the property on a hayride.
  • Open Hours : Monday, Thursday, and Friday from 10 AM to 3 PM.
  • Cost: $12.00/ person

We did the Farm Tour. For $18 a person it was well worth the money. Grandpa was our guide and was amazing! We got to bottle feed a calf, milk a cow, hold baby chicks, bunnies, and pigs. We were able play with the goats and collect fresh eggs. The hayride was nice and Grandpa even allowed a few guests to steer the reins. Overall it was a great experience and I’d recommend it to anyone visiting Lancaster.

What a wonderful afternoon on a beautiful farm! We signed up for the Farmhouse Experience and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! We met the hospitable farm owners who were eager to create a memorable experience while educating us on their culture. We got to taste fresh milk from the cow and hand churn our own butter. We cut up 2 bushels of apples and pressed out refreshing cider that we got to enjoy with homemade bread and the fresh butter with various local jams. The farm owners were so gracious with their time and answered every question. Would highly recommend investing your afternoon with this family!

Highly recommend it !!!! This place is amazing. If you are looking for a true amish experience, this is it. We brought our 18month old daughter and she LOVED IT (so did we).We got the whole package . We picked the vegetables from the garden, met and feed all the amazing farm animals (chickens, goats, sheep, pigs, cows , and bunnies). We went mid June and there were so many baby animals. Martha,our tour guide, was amazing!! So friendly and kind. She was very knowledgeable and really made our visit one to remember. We can’t wait to come back next year and see all the animals and the amazing Martha .Telling all our friends and family that the farm is a must see if in the area.

Visited today with my husband and we both loved it!! . We did the basic farm tour and lovedddd all the baby animals especially the Pygmy goats. Gideon was our tour guide and he was very nice. We got to feed the horses, calves, goats, chickens, hold some pigs, bunnies and chickens and Gideon even put a chicken on my shoulder and head!! Then the tour ended with a brief hayride (Gideon gave us the opportunity to ask any questions but we didn’t have any, we were just thrilled with getting to interact with all of the animals). Loved it here and hope to come again one day, highly recommend!!!

We really enjoyed this farm tour, especially our four-year-old daughter! She was absolutely enthralled with all the baby animals, and we all appreciated how hands-on and participatory the tour is. Even the smallest kids get the full experience! Our daughter was allowed to hold and feed the animals and even drove the hay ride. She really loved drinking milk straight from the cow! This is a great tour for families, since it's more focused on the animals than on the minutiae of farm operations, but still plenty fun and informative for adults. I highly recommend this one- we felt like it was a fantastic value and a fabulous time!

We were a family of 5 with children ranging between 6 years and 18 months. There was something for everyone and the hands on experience was a blast! We got to hold farm animals, ride a horse drawn hay wagon, help with barn chores such as milking the cows and bottle feeding the goats. We also went home with fresh picked vegetables from the garden. Highly recommended this experience!

Frequently Asked Questions

The Amish Christmas Experience at Old Windmill Farms runs from November 27th to December 30th on specific days. See calendar 

The normal group size is 15 people, comprising individuals from different parties. If you have a larger group, please give us a call, and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Participants will have the pleasure of taking home the delicious creations they help make, including freshly baked pumpkin pie, homemade apple sauce, and a portion of the butter produced during the experience.
